Norton, AVG, OneCare and McAfee are rubbish.
Just to warn you.

You need more than anti-virus: I use combination of programs, all of which are very kind on resources.
Avira: http://www.-av.com/ (if you don’t have anti-virus, or if you have Norton or AVG replace it with ) currently using: 8mb of memory
Spyware Terminator (turn off web security guard): http://www.spywareterminator.com/ currently using: ~10mb
Spybot: http://www.safer-networking.org/ (use immunise feature) teatimer (not necessary, can be turned off): 43mb
Superantispyware: http://www.superantispyware.com/ currently using: 0mb (scanning only)
Comodo: http://personalfirewall.comodo.com/ (turn off defense+ to see fewer alerts) currently using: 7.5mb

Click on Apply and OK ..don’t restart yet. #Step 9: any suspicious program you might end up finding by doing : click on START then CONTROL PANEL then ADD PROGRAMS (Look for anything unusual that could be the and the ) #Step 10: Restart your computer.
