    they work fine together

    You need both.
However rather than getting two separate items, get a complete package such as Kaspersky Interner Security.
    Does everything.

It is definitely recommended to have both antivirus and antispyware security installed. Unless you have an all-in-one security suite that takes care of both.

You should install both of them just make sure you get legitimate ones. They might make your computer a little slower but it probably wont be noticeable.

No, it will slow it down when you run the programs on a check, but other than that..No problems

It’s not bad at all. I recommend using AVG, and running Ad-Aware anytime you suspect problems.

    No.

Actually, it’s recommended to have both, as they are meant to do different functions and find different malware.

It is not a bad thing at all. You just have to be sure that there are not two anti-virus programs running at the same time. Some of the spyware programs include an anti-virus and they do not work well together. Anti-virus #1 may consider the activity of anti-virus #2 as detrimental and try to shut it down, while the second program may be doing the exact same thing.

It’s actually more beneficial to have both installed on your computer. A firewall is also something you would want to have on your PC, it’s better to protect your computer from threats in the first place because cleaning them could leave behind clutter. An all-in-one suite would be your best bet.

no, I have several actually. One virus scanner though since that will clash, probably with the other virus scanner. I have two spy sweepers, another for trojans. Also, a Malware scanner and they all work well together. Why so much? You would be amazed how one picks something up and the other does not. So far, its worked for me.
