Question by Chris&Cays<3: Norton Security keeps automatically popping up on my desktop. How can I delete it for good?
Ive noticed it 5 times in the last 3 days alone. A norton security icon pops up on my desktop adn each time I see it, I uninstall it and remove it form the desktop, but it keeps coming back. Im scared it’s the worm thats been going around. I do have a very good antivirus software, McAfee, and I regularly scan my computer and download updates. But how can I block this from my computer or delete it for good?

go to http://www.savemybutt.com it will tell you just how to do it
If you un installed the program download the Norton Removal Tool and run it to remove what was missed.

You can disregard the steps about keeping your key if you won’t be re installing the Norton Software. I would just download and run the tool in your case.
Norton has a nasty reputation for bad software that just clings on to your computer. I would recommend running that tool linked above, and if it keeps popping up, the easiest route after that would just be to reformat your computer.
Sounds like you may have Norton Security Scan on your computer. It comes with the Google pack, and some other programs like adobe. When you install the program it gives you the option not to install Norton Security Scan, many users when installing programs don’t pay attention to what they are doing and get programs they don’t want on their computers. This happens alot with search bars in browsers. The only way to get rid of the left over Norton may be to uninstall the program that came with Norton Security Scan. Google Norton removal tool. Get it from the Norton or symantec link. Run the tool, restart your computer, then run the tool again and restart your computer. If that does not get rid of it, you will have to uninstall the program that came with Norton Security Scan. When you put the program back on just make sure you unchecked Norton Security Scan.
