Get a good HP, or a good dell (if you insist)

I have a HP pavilion laptop and its nice i haven’t had any problems with viruses or anything because i have Norton. But i like a Macbook more, i am actually about to sell my laptop for a Mac. So my suggestion is a Macbook but if money is the issue than get a HP
Dell laptops are okay but for your needs I would go to the XPS laptop section. You can also go to http://www.cyberpowerpc.com and check out their computers and laptops. They have great deals. Use the coupon code INSTANT for 5 percent off. If you’re using it for games, videos and photo shop, get a dedicated(discrete) video card. It should be about $1000. For the virus protection you can use Avast which is the best free antivirus or Norton which is the best paid antivirus.
Some of the other answerers have some great suggestions for you, but something else you might want to take a look at is this new application called “Laptop Scout.”
It’s a great resource for comparing different models of laptops, helping to make sure you get the best value and performance for your money. Here’s a link: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-laptop-scout/default.aspx
Just go to the site and enter what kind of things you’re looking for in a laptop (in your case, you can just search by laptops that are best for “Music, Movies, and More”) and it’ll provide you with a list of potential laptops that match your specifications. It also provides links to Cnet reviews, so you can do some real in-depth comparisons while you look.
A lot depends on your budget, but I did a quick Laptop Scout search for music and media oriented systems (laptops that have powerful processors, good displays, plenty of disk space, etc). One that immediately popped up was the Dell XPS 1530 ($1383, with 4 GB of RAM, and 500 GB of storage for all your game and music files) or the Sony VIAO FW355 ($1129.99, the same amount of RAM, and a little less disk space).
If those don’t sound like a match, there’s a bunch more laptops, as well as a bunch of other customizable options (screen size, price, weight, etc.) that you can filter results through on Laptop Scout, so I’d recommend that you head there and check it out.
I hope this helps you find the laptop you’re looking for!
Thanks,
